THE Heineken RUgby ad
CHALLENGE
Create the copy for the Heineken Rugby ad in-line with the new "fresh perspective“ guidelines that are part of Heineken‘s DNA. Basically, looking positively at even difficult situations in life.
CONTEXT
The Heineken Experience has several areas that highlight sponsorship. Rugby is one. The space got a makeover in 2020. Part of it was adding a giant visual to the space with copy in-line with the brand‘s fresh perspective approach. Looking at challenging situations positively and with a smile is the way to go.
RESULT
The final copy plays with the term "refreshing“, which links to the cold Heineken but also to sliding on wet grass, which is usually not the most pleasant experience – and thus the fresh perspective.
ARUBA SCOUT foR Aruba tourism
Most information on Aruba focus on pink flamingos, the island's beautiful beaches and hotels and happy hours. Wouldn't it be nice to discover more than that, especially since "One Happy Island" has so much to offer? The Aruba Scout was born, to uncover hidden gems, local favorites and activities beyond the all-inclusive buffet.

when walls can talk
What do you do if you discover the division of two historical buildings during a construction? You keep the wall opened up and share a piece of history with the world!
CHALLENGE
Short and to the point copy to highlight the historical location in an engaging way.
CONTEXT
Over the years, the former Heineken brewery has transformed significantly. Buildings from different decades have witnessed this transformation, which is best visible from outside. When walking through the building people tend to forget that they are actually "time travelling“ by crossing different buildings.
RESULT
The headline catches the attention. The choice of words lets the walls speak, triggering people‘s imagination. The last part gives context via facts and figures.
A similar approach was taken for the Best 'Dam bar space, based in the brewery's former fermentation tanks. Then in combination with text and a historical visual to highlight the former function and unique location.

CHALLENGE
Create a text that functions as a photo opportunity and puts a less lively area into the spotlight.
CONTEXT
The Heineken Experience is the "Home of Heineken“, the place where history was written. Most guests come from abroad and visit the brand home as a once in a lifetime opportunity.
The text brings meaning to our international visitors as it reminds them that this experience doesn‘t end here. With every sip of Heineken they can travel back to this special visit. It also emphasis the social aspect of having a beer with family and friends at home. The sentence relates to the popular phrase "Home is where the heart is“.
RESULT
Many guests make use of this photo opportunity. Also the Social Media team created content with it, which was well received. Cheers to that!


the biggest fridge in town
CHALLENGE
Create a text for the massive beer tank windows to get visitor‘s attention.
CONTEXT
When leaving the bar, guests walk upstairs and arrive at the Store. On top of the stairs, massive beer tanks are cooling the golden beverage – true sleeping beauties! Reason enough to make them more visible, by equipping the space with a huge glass front instead of hiding them behind a wall. A text was essential to catch guest‘s attention and to provide context.
RESULT
The copy links to what visitors can relate to (a fridge) and educates on the number of litres the tanks actually hold. It also shares the fact that the Heineken Experience is the most "thirsty“ place in Amsterdam, "the biggest fridge in town“. Most litres of Heineken are consumed at this location, followed by different Amsterdam music venues.
